Homegrown Produce
Ballymagarvey has integrated sustainable and organic practices into its operations, including growing its own produce in our on-site greenhouse. This approach reflects a commitment to eco-friendly principles and a dedication to providing fresh, seasonal, and high-quality food for guests.
Homegrown
Our greenhouse allows Ballymagarvey Village to cultivate a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs year-round, despite Ireland’s cooler climate. By controlling the environment in the greenhouse, we can extend the growing season and ensure a steady supply of fresh produce for their kitchens. Some of the ingredients grown in the greenhouse include leafy greens, tomatoes, herbs, and other vegetables that are often featured in the dishes served to guests. This farm-to-table approach enhances the quality of the food by ensuring it’s both fresh and locally sourced.
Our focus on growing their own produce also reduces the carbon footprint by minimizing the need for transporting ingredients from external suppliers. Our chefs can plan menus around what’s in season, further reducing waste and promoting sustainability.
